Emin Gün Sirer is a freelance software developer and professor at Cornell University. He is currently working on HyperDex , a next-generation NoSQL store that provides ACID transactions, strong consistency, and fault tolerance guarantees, along with a rich API; Weaver, a scalable data store for graph-structured data; OpenReplica, an open object replication service; and Nexus, an operating system that can provide strong guarantees about the properties of its applications.

After graduating from Robert College High School, Sirer went on to obtain a B.S.E from Princeton University, as well as a PhD and Master’s degree from the University of Washington.
