April 11 (Cointime) - As Ethereum approaches a significant milestone in its roadmap, the Shanghai/Capella upgrade, ConsenSys has announced a new NFT collection called Ethereum, Evolved: Shanghai.

The NFT claim window opens on April 12th, 2023, at 9 pm EST and will remain available for 72 hours. Users with a MetaMask wallet can mint the open edition for free (excluding gas fees). For those without a MetaMask wallet, visit MetaMask.io to download and install one, and follow the provided guide to fund it.

Ethereum, Evolved: Shanghai consists of two editions. The first, a commemorative edition, includes two art NFTs symbolizing the themes of liquidity and security. The Shanghai/Capella upgrade aims to increase liquidity in the system by removing barriers to access staked ETH, which will boost global staking participation and enhance network security. As a token of appreciation, ConsenSys will airdrop these commemorative NFTs to Ethereum Core Devs on April 13th, the day following the upgrade's implementation.

The second, open edition, features an NFT that highlights the theme of decentralization. The Shanghai/Capella upgrade will encourage more validator participation, thereby increasing decentralization and improving network security.
