The Protos article also alleged that Ripple controls most UNLs on the XRP Ledger, but this was also debunked by Eri and the XRPL Foundation, which manages the dUNL independently of Ripple. The XRP community has responded to the Protos article, with some members calling attention to the fact that participants are free to choose which UNL they want to use.
